A Dream Come True:

As a child, Terry Burkhalter often dreamt about driving a team of horses. Over eight years ago, his dream of owning a draft horse and developing a small business became a reality. Classic Carriage started in 1999 with one draft horse and an antique Surrey.

Weddings and special events were the main focus. Business grew and it was necessary to add a show wagon, a larger carriage and a team of horses named Sonny and Cher. Sonny and Cher are known for their gentle and patient manner around all ages of people.

Since 2000, Classic Carriage has participated in over 300 events. The covered Conestoga wagon is used primarily for children, youth, families and companies for events such as birthdays, school functions, grand openings, customer appreciation days, and picnics.

The Visa-a-vis is used primarily for weddings, proms and special events such as anniversaries and parades.

Classic Carriage attempts to personalize each event to meet the needs and dreams of the customer without compromising their safety. Classic Carriage is known for its creative and professional carriage services throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
