In today's world, most couples already have an established household, with all of the "everyday" needs (silverware, linens, dishes, toasters etc...), which are usually the most popular wedding gifts. For those couples, our Honeymoon Registry Program is perfect. It's also a GREAT idea for those on a very limited budget that would still like a "dream" honeymoon.
How does it work?
The first step is for you to come in, or give us a call, and discuss your honeymoon ideas. We will do the initial research for you and take care of all the details. Next...we complete the booking, and you apply the initial deposit (this amount will vary depending on your package.). Once this is done, you provide us with a list of the guests you intend to invite to your wedding (names and complete addresses), and we have a letter that we send out to them letting them know that you have registered your honeymoon with our agency. At the bottom of the letter is a section that they can tear off and mail back to our agency with a monetary gift toward your honeymoon. Your agent will then keep track of all of the gifts that are received, and create a spreadsheet detailing what guests contributed. Not only will you know who sent in gifts, but you can then write appropriate "Thank You" notes.
We have found that this program works great for our honeymoon couples. Some only have a final payment amount of a couple hundred dollars, while others have actually gotten money back (because we received more than what we needed for payment on the package).
Is there a cost involved?
There are a couple of options. One option is that we will print the letters, address the envelopes, and mail them to the guests...this option is $100.00 for the first 100 names/addresses (this covers the cost of printing, envelopes and postage), then 50 cents for each additional name. The second option is free of charge for the client. We will print the initial letter, then the client makes copies, and mails them to the guests themselves.
One question that some client's have is "What happens to the names and addresses that we give Earman Travel?" The answer? They are only used for your honeymoon registry. We DO NOT add them to a mailing list. After your honeymoon registry is complete, the list goes in your file, and it is never used for anything else.
Who does this work for?
1. Anyone that is planning their honeymoon at least 6 months prior to the date they want to leave. This will give us ample time to get the letters out in the mail to the guests, and receive their responses. Most honeymoon packages have to be paid in full 45-60 days prior to departure.
